Web Design and E-commerce for Dubai Brands

Small Patterns designs and builds online stores and landing pages for brands selling in Dubai and across the UAE. We are a Beirut-based performance agency working with UAE brands remotely, and we build for paid traffic: the web design Dubai shoppers expect, with fast pages in English and Arabic, cards, Apple Pay and pay-later at checkout, and VAT-inclusive prices in dirhams. For Rolling Robots, Meta ads and landing pages returned 3.7x their ad spend.

At a glance

  • Beirut-based, building for Dubai and UAE brands remotely, with budgets, prices and reports in AED.
  • The checkout UAE shoppers expect: cards, Apple Pay, and pay-later options such as Tabby or Tamara.
  • Consumer prices shown with the 5% VAT included, as UAE rules require of VAT-registered sellers.
  • English and Arabic versions with right-to-left layouts and one URL per language.
  • Proof: Bokitta, a modest fashion brand selling in the GCC, UK, US and India, made $140K in sales on $15.7K in ad spend.

What’s included

Paid traffic in Dubai is expensive, so every page we build has one job: turn a paid click into a sale or a qualified lead you can measure.

  • Landing pages that earn the click. One page per offer and audience, matched to the ad that sends the traffic, then A/B tested on the headline, the offer and the form.
  • E-commerce stores. Product pages, bundles and offers, and a checkout with cards, Apple Pay and pay-later, priced in AED with VAT included.
  • Lead-generation sites. Short forms, booking and WhatsApp routing for services sold on a call or a visit, with each lead tied to its campaign.
  • English and Arabic. Right-to-left layouts, one URL per language, and Arabic copy written in-house. We build on Shopify, WordPress and WooCommerce, or a custom build, whichever fits.
  • Tracking. Meta Pixel with the Conversions API, GA4 ecommerce events, Google Ads conversions and the TikTok pixel, tested with real orders before spend goes up.
  • Email flows. Welcome, abandoned-cart and post-purchase emails. Our work for TIDL included Klaviyo email flows; revenue grew 5.5x year over year, from $59K to $323K.

What a Dubai website has to get right

Cards, wallets and pay-later at checkout

The UAE has the global defaults: Shopify Payments and Stripe both list it, and Apple Pay is supported. Local gateways plug in too. Telr, based in Dubai, has a Shopify payment app, and Network International’s N-Genius Online plugin is in the WooCommerce Marketplace. Pay-later is part of the picture: Tabby, a Dubai company, splits a purchase into four payments (or up to 12) and pays the merchant upfront, and Tamara’s WooCommerce plugin appears for UAE and Saudi billing addresses.

Pay-later isn’t free for the merchant (Tabby’s Shopify listing, for one, mentions a rate per successful order), so it comes out of your margin. We offer it where the numbers support it, not on every product by default.

Prices in dirhams, with VAT included

If you are VAT-registered, prices shown to consumers must include the 5% VAT (Article 38 of the VAT Decree-Law, read with Article 27 of its Executive Regulation), and the penalty is AED 5,000 per violation. We set stores to show VAT-inclusive AED prices and check that the checkout total matches the price on the product page.

English and Arabic, built properly

Arabic is the UAE’s official language, and shop signs are in Arabic and English. Under the consumer protection rules in force since October 2023, UAE-registered suppliers must give invoices, warranty information and mandatory labelling in Arabic, with other languages allowed alongside. A real Arabic version is more than translated text: the W3C recommends setting dir=”rtl” on the page itself, and Google asks each language version to list itself and the others with hreflang. We test the theme right-to-left, checkout included, before building on it.

Fast networks, so a slow page is a build problem

Median mobile download speed in the UAE was 614.42 Mbps at the end of 2025, and phones carried 60.04% of web traffic in September 2026. A slow page here is slow because of how it was built: oversized images, too many apps, heavy scripts. We build to Google’s “good” Core Web Vitals on mobile (main content within 2.5 seconds, taps answered within 200 milliseconds), because at UAE click prices, covered in our Google Ads cost guide, every visitor who leaves early is a click you paid for.

Makaan is a useful counterpoint: Meta’s lead ads collect sign-ups in a form that uses details people already shared with Facebook, so not every offer needs a new site before it can sell. More on our case studies page.

How we work

  1. Free audit and breakeven. We review your site, checkout and tracking, and work out the most you can pay for a sale with our Target CPA Calculator.
  2. Map the checkout and the rules. Payment methods and pay-later, VAT-inclusive AED pricing, which pages need Arabic, and the delivery and returns pages.
  3. Build the pages your ads point to first. Landing and product pages come before the rest of the site, so campaigns can start while the build continues.
  4. Wire and test tracking. Pixel and Conversions API, GA4, Google Ads and TikTok events, checked with real orders.
  5. Launch and test. A/B tests on offers, layouts and checkout options such as pay-later, reported in AED against your breakeven.

FAQ

How much does a website cost in Dubai?

It depends on what you need: a landing page, a business site or a full store in English and Arabic, with domain, hosting and maintenance billed separately. We quote after the free audit, and ad spend is always a separate bill. Typical Dubai agency prices are in our Dubai agency cost guide.

Do prices on my UAE website have to include VAT?

Yes, if you are VAT-registered and selling to consumers: displayed prices must include the 5% VAT, and the penalty is AED 5,000 per violation. Prices for VAT-registered business buyers or for export may exclude VAT if the page states it clearly. Confirm your own case with your accountant.

Should my store offer Tabby or Tamara?

Test it rather than assume. Both serve UAE shoppers and pay the merchant upfront while the customer pays in installments, but the merchant pays for that convenience. Offer it on part of the catalog first and compare conversion rate, order value and margin before rolling it out.

Does my Dubai website need an Arabic version?

Part of it does if your business is registered in the UAE: invoices, warranty information and mandatory labelling must be in Arabic, with English allowed alongside. Beyond that, translate the pages where Arabic-speaking buyers land, and test Arabic against English ads and pages for your audience. Bokitta’s campaigns used both.

Can a Beirut agency build my Dubai website?

Yes. We have no Dubai office and work with UAE brands remotely, on accounts registered to your company. Our hours are 10 am to 6 pm Beirut time: 11 am to 7 pm in Dubai in summer, noon to 8 pm in winter.
