Digital marketing in Lebanon, in numbers
Lebanon is small, young and almost entirely online. These are the figures we plan campaigns around.
| Metric | Lebanon |
|---|---|
| Population | 5.86 million, median age 28.8 |
| Internet users | 5.38 million (91.8% of the population) |
| Social media user identities | 4.58 million (78.1%) |
| Facebook ad reach | 3.45 million (58.9%) |
| YouTube ad reach | 3.12 million (53.2%) |
| Instagram ad reach | 2.95 million (50.3%), up 13.5% in a year |
| Snapchat ad reach | 1.46 million (25.0%) |
| LinkedIn members | 1.40 million (23.9%) |
| Google’s share of search | 95.7% (September 2026) |
Two things follow. Facebook still reaches the most people, while Instagram is growing fastest of the big platforms. And with Google handling almost every search, Google Ads is the only search platform worth paying for. Search volumes in a country of under six million people are small, so for most consumer brands paid social creates the demand and search captures it.
What a marketing agency in Lebanon has to get right
The ad platforms work the same everywhere. The market around them doesn’t. These four local details most often decide whether a campaign here makes money.
Dollars, not lira
Lebanon’s economy runs largely on cash dollars: the World Bank put the dollarized cash economy at 45.7% of GDP in 2022, and since 2023 shops have been allowed to price goods in US dollars. We set budgets, target costs per sale and reports in dollars, so the numbers match how your customers pay.
WhatsApp closes the sale
In Pew’s Lebanon survey, 84% of adults used WhatsApp, more than any other platform. Many sales start with an ad and finish in a chat. We build click-to-WhatsApp campaigns and, where the setup allows, send purchases made in chat back to Meta through the Conversions API, so the algorithm learns who buys and not just who messages. City Market’s home-delivery launch on Facebook and WhatsApp brought in over $3K in daily sales on its first day.
Checkout without Stripe
Stripe and Shopify Payments aren’t available in Lebanon, and cash on delivery is still common. A store here usually needs cash on delivery plus a local option such as Whish Pay, or a card gateway such as MontyPay or Bank of Beirut’s. We track cash-on-delivery orders as conversions, because a campaign optimized only for card payments ignores a large share of your buyers. More in our guide to building a website that sells in Lebanon.
Arabic, French, English and Arabizi
Arabic is the official language, the constitution gives French a place too, and many Lebanese type Arabic in Latin letters (Arabizi). Which one your audience answers is something to test, not assume, so we treat the language of an ad as a variable, the same way we test images and offers.

How we work
- Free marketing audit. We review your ad accounts, tracking, creative and the path from ad to sale, then tell you what to fix first.
- In-depth analysis. Margins, past campaigns, competitors’ ads and the customer journey, so targets come from your numbers rather than industry averages.
- Quick, aggressive A/B testing. Offers, creative, audiences and landing pages, across the whole funnel.
- Growth hacking. Scale what wins, cut what doesn’t, and report on spend, cost per result and revenue.

Know your numbers before you spend. Our free Target CPA Calculator takes your average order value, cost of goods and delivery cost, and returns your breakeven cost per sale and breakeven ROAS. Use it before you set a budget, with us or anyone else.

FAQ
How much does a marketing agency in Lebanon cost?
It depends on scope (which channels, how much creative, whether a website is involved) and on your ad budget, which is always a separate bill. Marketing agencies in Lebanon usually charge a monthly retainer, a percentage of ad spend, a performance component or a mix; we compare the models in our guide to choosing an agency. The free audit is the fastest way to get a number for your business.
Which platform should a Lebanese business start with?
Start where your buyers are when they need you. If people already search for what you sell, Google Ads captures that demand. If they don’t know they need it yet, Meta (Facebook reaches the most people here, Instagram is growing fastest) or TikTok creates it. Many brands end up running both, with paid social doing most of the work.
Can I sell online in Lebanon without card payments?
Yes. Cash on delivery is still common, and wallets such as Whish now plug into Shopify checkouts. Accept them, and make sure those orders are tracked as conversions, or your ads will optimize for the minority who pay by card.
How long before we see results?
Tracking fixes and obvious waste can pay off in the first weeks. Reliable test results depend on volume: Meta recommends structuring ad sets to reach about 50 conversions in 7 days to get through the learning phase, so lower budgets and higher prices take longer. We would rather tell you that up front than promise a number in week one.
Do you only work with Lebanese brands?
No. We run campaigns for brands in Lebanon and the GCC, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia. If you sell in the Gulf, see how we work with Dubai and UAE brands.
