Google Ads Cost in the UAE (2026): CPCs, Budgets and Fees

Google Ads has no fixed price in the UAE: you set the budget, and each click (or view, on some YouTube formats) is priced in a live auction. For the marketing-services keywords we checked in Ahrefs’ UAE database, estimated CPCs run from about AED 5.50 to AED 29 a click (US$1.50 to $8.00), and the sensible way to set a monthly budget is to work back from the cost per lead or sale you can afford.

Key takeaways

  • You pay per click on Search and Shopping, per click or viewable impression on Display, and per view or impression on YouTube, at prices set by an auction.
  • UAE CPCs for marketing keywords range from about AED 5.50 to AED 29 (Ahrefs, 2026). Your industry will differ.
  • Google can spend up to 2x your average daily budget on a given day, but caps the month at 30.4x for most campaigns.
  • Google says it doesn’t add VAT for business accounts outside Ireland; VAT-registered UAE businesses generally self-account 5% under the reverse charge. Check the billing entity on your invoice.
  • Management fees come on top: Dubai agencies publish 10–25% of spend or a flat monthly fee.

How Google Ads pricing works

Every search triggers an auction. Ad Rank decides whether your ad shows and where, and Google lists six inputs: your bid, ad and landing page quality, minimum thresholds, auction competitiveness, search context, and the expected impact of assets such as sitelinks.

Your bid is a ceiling, not the price. Google says what you actually pay is often less than your maximum bid, and that higher-quality ads can often lead to lower CPCs. Quality Score (1 to 10, built from expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience) is a diagnostic: Google states it is not an input in the auction, but a low score points to the same weaknesses the auction punishes. A relevant ad and a fast landing page that matches the search are the cheapest way to lower your CPC.

What clicks cost in the UAE

Google doesn’t publish country-level CPCs, so keyword data is the practical reference. Here are Ahrefs’ estimates for real UAE searches in our own industry.

Read these as directional: Ahrefs describes its CPC as an estimated bid in US dollars, updated infrequently, to be treated as an average. Volume and price don’t move together either: “digital marketing agency dubai” gets three times the searches of “ppc agency dubai” at half the CPC, likely because the narrower phrase attracts buyers who know what they want.

For your own vertical, Keyword Planner shows a “top of page bid” low range (about the 20th percentile of what advertisers paid) and high range (about the 80th) for your location.

Search vs Performance Max vs Display vs YouTube vs Shopping

Campaign types differ less in “price” than in what you’re charged for.

Campaign typeYou pay forDetail
SearchClicks (CPC)Priced by the Ad Rank auction
ShoppingClicks (CPC)Charged only when someone clicks through to your site or a Google-hosted local inventory page
DisplayClicks, or viewable impressions (vCPM)An impression is viewable when 50% of the ad is on screen for 1 second or more
YouTube (video views campaigns)Views (CPV)In-stream: 30 seconds watched (or the whole ad if shorter) or an interaction; Shorts: 10 seconds or a call-to-action click
Performance MaxDepends on placementClicks on Search, Shopping, Display and Discover; CPM on YouTube in-stream; an “engagement” on Gmail

Don’t compare these on cost per click: a Display click and a Search click come from very different intent, so compare cost per lead or sale. Performance Max blends several placements, so judge it on conversions and check how much of its spend lands on searches for your own brand name.

How Google’s budget rules work

You set an average daily budget per campaign. Google’s help center says a campaign can spend up to two times that amount on any given day, and that you won’t be charged more than 30.4 times it in a month (the average number of days in a month) for most campaigns.

In AED: a AED 200 daily budget can spend AED 400 on a busy day, but the month is capped at AED 6,080. If costs run past the cap, Google’s own example applies: with a $304 monthly limit and $310 of accrued costs, you’re charged $304. Set budgets as a monthly figure divided by 30.4, and judge pacing over the month, not the day.

Billing, currency and VAT in the UAE

Currency and payments

Pick the currency carefully: Google says an account’s currency is set permanently at sign-up, and paying in another means opening a new account. The UAE dirham (AED) is on Google Ads’ list of currency codes. Google also states that in the UAE, Google Ads can only be used for business purposes.

The UAE is on Google’s list of countries where prepay isn’t available, so accounts run on postpay (automatic payments) or, if eligible, monthly invoicing. On postpay, Google charges you 30 days after your last automatic payment or when costs reach your billing threshold, whichever comes first. It doesn’t accept prepaid cards on postpay, and its payment options tool lists exactly which cards and methods work for your country and currency.

Does Google charge VAT on ads in the UAE?

This is murkier than it should be. Google’s help page on its VAT setting says that for business accounts outside Ireland it doesn’t add VAT to Google Ads charges, and that you’re responsible for determining the tax due at your country’s rate.

On the UAE side, the Federal Tax Authority’s public clarification VATP044 says businesses receiving services from outside the UAE, where the place of supply is the UAE, must account for VAT on them (the reverse charge). For a VAT-registered business that usually means declaring 5% on its Google spend and, if it makes taxable supplies, recovering it as input tax.

What we couldn’t confirm from Google’s documentation is which Google entity bills UAE accounts today. A UAE accounting firm (January 2026) says invoices come from Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. without UAE VAT; other UAE guides describe a 5% VAT line. So open Documents in the Billing menu, note the legal entity and whether a tax line appears, and confirm the treatment with your accountant.

Worked example: from target CPA to monthly budget

Here’s the math we use, with example numbers to swap for yours.

  1. Set the target CPA. Say a lead is worth paying AED 200 for. If you sell online, our free Target CPA Calculator works out breakeven CPA from order value, cost of goods and shipping, and this guide explains the formula.
  2. Estimate the conversion rate of your landing page. Use your own data; with none, start with a cautious assumption such as 5% and correct it after the first few hundred clicks.
  3. Find your maximum affordable CPC: target CPA × conversion rate = AED 200 × 5% = AED 10.
  4. Set volume: 50 leads a month ÷ 5% = 1,000 clicks.
  5. Budget: 1,000 clicks × AED 10 = AED 10,000 a month, or an average daily budget of about AED 329 (10,000 ÷ 30.4).

Reality check: on “ppc agency dubai” (about AED 14.69 a click in Ahrefs’ estimate), a 5% conversion rate puts each lead at roughly AED 294, well over the AED 200 target. You’d need a conversion rate of about 7.3%, or a keyword set with cheaper clicks. Run this check before launch, not after a month of spend.

Management fees on top

If an agency or freelancer runs the account, their fee is a separate line from your Google spend. Dubai agencies publish anywhere from 10–20% of monthly spend (SEO Sherpa) to 15–25% of spend, or a flat AED 3,000–10,000 a month for smaller budgets (Prism). On the AED 10,000 example above, a 15% fee is AED 1,500 a month, which adds AED 30 to each of the 50 leads.

Common ways UAE advertisers waste budget

When we take over a Google Ads account, these are the first things we check:

  • Location set to “Presence or interest”. It’s Google’s default, and it also reaches people who have only shown interest in your area. A Dubai clinic or delivery-only store usually wants “Presence”: people in, or regularly in, your target locations.
  • Broad match with no negative keywords. Broad match is the default and, per Google, can show ads on searches merely related to your keyword. Without negatives, “ppc agency dubai” can buy clicks from people looking for PPC jobs.
  • Display Network switched on in a Search campaign. Display expansion sends Search budget to Display sites and apps. Keep it only if you want that inventory.
  • Tracking the wrong conversion. Count every WhatsApp tap as a lead and automated bidding learns to buy cheap, low-intent clicks. Track qualified leads or purchases.
  • Arabic searches landing on English-only pages. If you bid on Arabic keywords, the ad and the page should be in Arabic too.
  • Editing the daily budget every day. Google can spend up to 2x on a given day anyway, so set a monthly figure and review weekly.

FAQ

How much should a small business spend on Google Ads in the UAE?

Multiply your target CPA by the leads or sales you want each month: AED 200 per lead × 50 leads = AED 10,000. If that’s too much, narrow the keyword list rather than spreading a smaller budget thin.

Can I pay for Google Ads in AED?

AED is on Google Ads’ list of currency codes, but you choose the currency when you create the account and can’t change it later. Google’s payment options tool shows which payment methods work for UAE accounts in your chosen currency.

Why did Google spend more than my daily budget?

Google can spend up to twice your average daily budget on a given day. For most campaigns, it won’t charge more than 30.4 times that budget in a month.

What is a good CPC in Dubai?

There isn’t one number. For marketing-services keywords, Ahrefs’ estimates range from about AED 5.51 to AED 29.38. A good CPC is any price that keeps your cost per lead or sale under target at your conversion rate.
